The attribution to Robert Irvine, by the way, seems a mistake, though it is repeated often. Thanks very much for the new information!<br />Rich Hortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07659613066689174738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257559067333970126.post-71171175938200917762023-09-20T05:51:56.767-07:002023-09-20T05:51:56.767-07:00Thanks. I am not sure about the 1985 date, which was based on stuff I found search -- it's quite possible it was even a typo for 1995 or 1997. The Newsday article you cite seems likely more definitive.Rich Hortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07659613066689174738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257559067333970126.post-23493418203711340312023-09-12T13:32:44.657-07:002023-09-12T13:32:44.657-07:00Thanks for the review. I 1st learned of Heath in an article published in New York Newsday in the summer of 1997, which indicated that Heath had been found dead earlier that year. The years hadn't been kind to Heath, and the article itself was downright nasty, He'd never worked hard for anything - he had a wife who did that, until she died of cancer. She was a beautiful woman, but even the pictures he kept of her damned him (he took many with her, as if knowing he;d one day have to prove that a woman like that had had anything to do with him). The piece was dismissive of his earlier work, and briefly mentions his near fame with "Night Trains". Heath continued writing to the end, though without finding much success, and his existence was reduced to cheap motel rooms or sponging off friends. Ultimately, he moved out of his hotel room, and camped out in a nearby wooded area. His body was found some weeks later.Winterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06552733813802115834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257559067333970126.post-2851434326194856002023-08-27T14:18:47.015-07:002023-08-27T14:18:47.015-07:00Check out the author Robert R.
